Harley tracked in frozen grass like an old pro and Dexter well...
I can't figure out how to get him interested in a sent pad loaded with yummie treats

Vigo and I did some practice with stuff from our obedience class...some basic heeling, turns, down and sit stays, etc.
Then, we played up and down our block...just some quick "hey, if you walk nicely, you never know when your favorite toy will appear". He used to be scared to walk past a house where he was attacked by a puggle, but he is now comfortable to walk that way and will even take treats from me. This is huge for him.

Jethro - Turn (a quick turn around and then sitting face front to me to avoid unwanted reactions with incoming distractions) then I added a variation, which was to Wait while I put myself ahead of him and just stood there for a good while, and then Okay and we move forward again. We were just practicing, we didn't actually encounter any high distraction/reactive situation. But I must say we had the most peaceful walk yet, with Jethro loping along on a nice loose leash.
Also, for Jethro, playing Fetch. I have figured out he loves the soft volleyball because he can get his mouth on it and carry it, but it also works for a bit of a tug when he brings it back to me. He retrieved the ball 3x in a row, with a nice fast run to get it. The first time, he brought it back on his own. The second and third time, he waited by it until I called out Bring and then he picked it up and brought it back. Well, the day before he retrieved 2 in a row, so this was a big increase in retrievals.
Skipper has been coming in with a nice Sit while I am working with Jethro, so he gets treats, too.

Today Danni and I did flirt pole work to up her prey drive. We'll be doing it daily for a good few weeks and she should start having enough drive to work for toy rewards.
In obedience we used the ecollar for the first time and she's doing much better. It's getting a lot clearer to her now.
It was a stressful day for her so she's in the crate now and will end up playing some ball tonight to make sure she's relaxed from it all.

I feel SO lucky to have a good helper who's a good friend too. He's been doing SchH for 20+ years. He's been an enormous help and is the reason Danni's looking so good.

Bikejorring run today...went ok but he wasn't into it. When I got home I detached him and told him to sit...he sat but head down ready to dart...I made him wait, put the bike in the yard first then said ok...he ran and grabbed his new rope ball and brought it like "THIS is what I wanted!"

I've been hiding my keys for Kenzi to find. Fun, simple but still a puzzle for her and we can practice just about anywhere.
I started out by holding my keys and getting her to target them, then putting them on the floor for her to target, then putting them on different level (floor, chair, box, etc) then actually starting to hide them bit by bit.
Thanks! I am starting this today.

Today Jethro retrieved a ball three times in a row. This was good, pretty much his limit right now. What was really beautiful was the gusto he showed. He charged after the ball, grabbed it, and came charging back to me with it. It was so fun to watch. I just laughed and enjoyed the sight.
Skipper is learning to sit and wait for the door with Jethro. He tends to want to push out ahead.
It was a good day. We had a great walk, and Jethro fell right in behind me on the narrow trail and didn't try to crowd ahead. Not only that, but he stopped barking and lunging at a regular dog we pass who charges and barks up and down his fence. Jethro actually stopped and looked at me for direction and we walked away with our dignity intact.

unexpected long down for Harley.
We were play fetch when some delivery guy showed up and would not get out of his truck.
I left Harley in a down in the barn yard and went off to see the guy. Harley waited there for 5 min, No collar or leash on and I had left the ball about 50' form him.
So good. I went from the barn to the truck in the parking to my parent house and back. He did not budge.
