That's ok, Teresa... I thought it was the medication.
Na, that just helps me tolerate you!

HaHa... When you're rich guy comes along, he'll pbly be named John (or is it Jon) or Stephen (maybe Steven). You'll really be in a fix then.

I honestly believe Radar has become more civil toward people because of him maturing, mentally, but he has attacked a drunk intruder before when he was 7 months old (scary), has made a warning bite toward a woman who was intruding on my property like an idiot and I have no doubt he'd protect himself if someone wasn't backing off. Protect me? Possibly, but I can't help but think he's looking out for himself more than me, regardless of where I am in relation to him. It's a test I'd like to put to him some day, but I'll keep relying on myself to keep us both safe, instead of relying on a dog who might be smart as a whip... but is still a dog and a pet.

BINGO!!
If I were in a fight for my safety or even life, unless I had a trained PPD, a dog would be a distraction and a liability. One more thing to worry about. I think it was Jamie that said her dog got bruised for his efforts.
As Will has said many times, anyone serious about personal protection needs a handgun.

None of them bit, one of them was pretty scary though, very impressive display. I think it would be enough for the average criminal to skip that house for the dog-less one nextdoor
This is how I ended up finding Sadie on Craigslist... I wanted the alarm system. I don't think for a minute that she would bite, but noone wants to take that chance. Word in my neighborhood is that you ain't goin' on my property if I'm not present, and that's the way I like it.
Almost all of my neighbors have "guard dogs" and I'm not going in their yards to test the theory.

I do not know much about bitework...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TS4CSoRoK7o&list=UU9XL1VYwcOq-m57aqLTYsgg&index=1&feature=plcp
but the first dog that bites here "TJ" (listed on the site for $20K) is it just me or is that a rather lousy bite? I mean he's got it at the end of his teeth, sort of falls off the sleeve the bite again just as badly.... It is a helper error or a tooth problem or what? It even LOOKs unimpressive (and good editing can make any dog look okay)

Yes, it is lousy bitework by dogs and helpers throughout the video.
The worst part, IMO, is that these "attack" dogs are showing very poor technique. They aren't disabling the weapons, and are taking way too many hits.
My favorite part is the Piranha dog nipping at the large dog (instead of the agitator) at 3:20,

Looks like he's playing tug with the bitesuit. Most people that have been around dogs for a while know when a dog is being serious, those dogs are not serious. Put a stranger outside the kennel area with hidden sleeves on, acting in a threatening manner, and I bet there would be a totally different reaction. Probably alot of displays, but thats about it.
Based on that video, and others that he has posted, he is in the wrong line of business.

Also did not see a single dog release on command. They seemed to either give up or be cowed off.

Overall pretty sad...showline GSDs galore. At least the Rottweiler re-griped on him once and got a better hold...the others were biting with their incisors. Not one dog was serious...they didn't seem to attack on command or let go on command, one dog leg go when they guy hit him...the others gave up.
