So far, the show is getting better with each episode. There is much less of the filler junk and bleeps, and lots of different training venues and types of dogs.
Tonight was the first glimpse of the training that David and Fama did.
Hey everybody. Just did a search to see if you guys were watching the show. I did train at VLK, and worked for them for a while. They are a good bunch of guys.
I was there for some of the shooting, and it was always a battle between the VLK guys and the producer. The trainers are all about the dogs, and about them being successful in the real world, not about scripted TV. I won't say a whole lot about it, but there were fireworks from time to time.
I haven't had a chance to see the program yet, but I'm excited to do so. VLK is a fun place to be.
I hope they feature some of the trainers as well as the big wigs. Bobby and Danny really know their stuff, but there is a lot of work that goes into building those dogs, and the majority of that work is done by the trainers.
I just watched a couple of clips on the Nat Geo page and my red and white pickup truck is in the "Love at first sight" clip
The one on a few weeks ago seems to have been a one-of. However, those things are generally re-run multiple times. That is, wait awhile and it will be back.
I would imagine it's a one-timer. If I had to guess, the military didn't expect to have two dogs lost when they agreed to embed documentary filmmmakers, and they may decide not to gamble on a repeat. Not to mention that we are now withdrawing.
I was a little worried it would be horrible after just watching the previews and clips but I actually like it. I like how they are big on the relationship with the dog and I liked how they treated the handler getting bit- I think there are some people who need to see how someone who knows what they are doing react to that kind of situation.
