When I started my three terriers on raw, I was nervous about their small size so I beat the chicken quarters with a hammer first. That was totally WRONG for my oldtimer,Rags. He would hack up just about every meal. I quickly went to leaving the leg quarters whole and he had no more problem because he spent more time chewing. Dern near started a lot of dog fight with all that good stuff he dumped on the kitchen floor. I always made sure he got to keep what was his, even if he did throw it away once. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Unfortunately, since I've retired, I've gone back to kibble and scraping the terriers teeth again. My GSD keeps his polished on a sleeve.
