I never touched my photo, and I think it all depends on the computer you use cause at lone point jason sidener signature phot would'nt appear on my computer yet I saw it on my sons computer.I have always seen my photo the same.I am about to change the photo however so I hope it stays small for everyone.
We loved that picture so much we used it on our Christmas cards this year. Too bad the Santa hat and the beard took up too much vertical space for a sig pic, so I had to change the sig to something much more pedestrian...
Ok I wanted to show off my baby too!!! I love that we can do this now. I love seeing everyones dogs. I have dail up and eveyones' pictures are coming up great! I can't wait to see more
Ever since the pics under your names got started recently, the posts go off to the right of my screen and now I have to scroll, not only up and down, but left to right (just like I do when I'm viewing a post in Member's Bio). For some reason the posts with pics don't fit in the box anymore.
Maybe instead of posting a pic under your text, it would be possible to post the pic right under your names (where the avatars are, not in place of them though) and thereby not have it affect the post's text portion going off my screen???
OK, I'll take my thrashing now .
No thrashing at all! That would be really annoying to have to scroll both ways.
I'm wondering if that's some setting on your computer, because I have tons of space on either side and the pics are much less wide than the column of text. Seriously, that's odd, I don't have that problem. These photos we're posting are small.
What might be a happy medium is to have our pics as our avatars. I've seen that done elsewhere and it obviously decreases the size of image and prevents people from loading things that are too big.
I really love the photos but I don't want anyone else to be put out by them.
Amber, I never thought of my computer being the problem because it didn't occur before the pics were downloaded but that doesn't mean my computer is not the problem. Whew, what a sentence. Anyway, I'm not technologically advanced enough to figure out if my computer is the issue so I'm going to have my fiance look and see if there's something that can be changed. I'd prefer to see that be the problem because I really love seeing everyone's pictures. I'll be downloading one myself once I figure out how to follow the instructions Angelique posted - thanks Angelique. BTW, Amber, I want that puppy! Carbon has to be the cutest little thing I've ever seen. Angelique, what can I say, your dogs are gorgeous. Great new pic too.
Barbara, you need to open your image with an image-editing program first to shrink it to the size you want :-)
Then you upload the small version and post away like you tried.
Lol, don't feel bad Susan, you'll find it easy once you figure it out. Feel free to PM me; I've already helped out a few people with the signature images, I can provide extra instructions if you need them
If anyone needs help shrinking their images, please feel free to send them to me via PM - I'd be happy to do it for them. I use paint shop pro 9 (an excellent program) and can edit the images and improve image quality with it (and avoid losing quality when shrinking images).
I did Angelique's images for her and it was a lot of fun; her dogs are gorgeous
(By the way Barbara, I love that banner image you have on your website with the dogs' heads lined up like that! It's the coolest thing I've seen... great website and great dogs.)
Yuko, I really liked that picture of your pup swimming with a stick in his mouth. He looks like he is on a mission. Yes there are many poor souls in rural mid west USA with dial up because that is all that is offered.
Thanks Susan.
Yes, his mission was to keep the stick away from me and have it all to himself
He carried that darned thing around during our whole trip. Swimming or not. He was 4 months old then and could already out-swim me - that stupid stick weighed as much as he did back then
Many of my friends from the mid-western U.S have dial-up, but the dial-up available nowadays is more than adequate in terms of handling images.
I know they still have trouble downloading videos, but these images are certainly within their capabilities.
