i tried different kinds of food again, nothing. But they are looking a little better.
I made some nice broth, and mixed in some alfalfa powder, and vit. c in it, and syringe fed it to them. They didn't like it, but they took it. When i find my bigger syringe, i will try a thicker mixture. It has also been about 6 hours since the last sub-q, so i will give some more in the next hour.
what a fun christmas i am having........

Well, being weak from no food can depress appetite, too. I betcha that they'll be up for some thickish broth with actual poultry breast blended up in it soon. If not, then plain live-culture yogurt slides down easily, and even has calcium along with the protein (as well as some replenishment of intestinal flora/fauna).
I can't think of many more worthwhile ways to spend Christmas, by the way.

ha, i wouldn't be doing anything elae anyway, my family and i don't speak to eachother. This reminds me of christmas 2 years ago, i was visiting a friend in minnesota, who was dogsitting like 7 hunting dogs, and they wanted these dogs loose running in the house, and they all ganged up on this fox hound, we spent all of christmas day in the emergency vet getting her face stitched shut.
Only this is decidedly less bloody.
i will get some yogurt maybe tomorrow if i can get to a store. I have a very good feeling they will really perk up if i can get them to eat, but that is the problem. maybe i will get my house cleaned up searching for that syringe.

I think it would be a good idea to take some pictures of the Pups and the Chi for your records. It might help if there is any litigation. This way you can prove that the dogs were in poor condition when you picked them up even though they claimed they were healthy.
I really like Connie's record/info collection ideas.
I'm wondering if they have Distemper instead of Parvo. They can have similar symptoms.

i took them out of their crates, and put them in my kitchen in an x-pen. They keep hacking up stuff, and i don't have enough bedding/newspaper to keep changing it out of theier crates. so now, they can get up, go over to the side and hack away, keeping their bedding clean.I figure, they are all sick, so no one will spread anything to anyone, plus, they find comfort in their little huddle.
They are stable. And looking still sunk in and anorexic, but less depressed.
So, one pup, oliver, ate a small bite of boiled chicken!!! YAY!!!!!
But that was it.

Are they drinking the baited water as well as the sub-Q?
I have a dog named Oliver. He also would definitely be the first one to eat.
Maybe the others will see one eat and want some.
I keep logging in when I see this thread active. :> I'm cheering 'em on.

Good idea.
Distemper -- similar fluid support and just general care?

they are willingly drinking regular water whenever they wake up. They are actually pretty gung-ho about the water drinking. I put a bit of pedialyte in it, but the grocery store my friend went to only had fruit flavored. But they don't mind the flavor. I am cheering them on too, i need a nap though, but i am scared to sleep.

Maybe they can be in the bedroom in a kiddy pool, or in the ex-pen over a tarp, with their bedding over that? (Or over an old shower curtain, or cut-open trash baggies?)
Then you would hear them.
You can't stay awake forever.

i will try that. or, i can just sleep on the floor in my kitchen, which would be less work.
i will now attempt the impossible(for me at least), i will attempt to add a pic of Abigail.
ha, ok, nevermind, i can't do it. these things never work for me.
