Couple ideas.
O.K., he does good on necks. Did you ever get to leave some skin on those?
How long with the 1/4er's 'til diarrhea starts? Are there organs attached to them? If so, are you leaving them? Probably not the reason, but thought I'd check.
Has he had backs? Any parts of the chicken other than necks or 1/4er's?
1/4er's are a dark meat, and *can* be difficult for some dogs new to raw.
Maybe try some of the upper parts of the bird. Bone-in breast. If you have some whole chickens, anything but the leg 1/4er's.
Sorry that Bliz is giving y'all trouble.

One more question.
Do the leg 1/4er's have an enhanced solution added?
Most of the time they don't, but it is worth a check. Some dogs can't handle that either.
It should be on the package somewhere. It may not be obviously marked, and you'll have to look for it. It the sodium content is SUPER high that is a give away as well.

I just looked back at your most recent post and saw that this is day 3 of diarrhea.
Go ahead and do the soothing diet (boiled chicken and way overcooked white rice) and try to stop this diarrhea.
Baited water would be good now, too, so he'll stay hydrated.
Also, I went back farther, and when you started you didn't have a way of measuring the weight of the food. Do you have a scale now? If not, go ahead and get one. It may help in feeding this sensitive puppy.
We need to know: How much does the puppy weigh? How many times a day is he being fed? And the reason for the scale, how much are y'all feeding daily/per meal?
Can anyone tell that I like this list feature? I'm gonna run those little black dots in the ground.

Will try the rice and chicken. That diarrhea is bad.
I did buy a scale. We were feeding him a bit under the amount. Going by what he will weigh as an adult ( Around 100lbs. His mother was 90, father 100 ) and feeding him 3lbs a day. He gets fed in the morning and in the evening, 1.5 each. He is a bit too thin, and needs a bit of weight though.
The chickens he's being fed have no solution added. Some of the new ones we got do have some broth in them ( I didn't even notice when we bought them! >< ) but we have alot of the plain left.
The legs we had been giving him are completely stripped..nothing on them, pinched off almost every bit of fat. The necks before this had some fat on them, but not the huge chunks some of them had hanging off. He fed those skins to Reesee.
-Thought I'd add about the backs. We only have a box of necks and the rest are whole chickens. We cut the chickens into four pieces, straight down the spine, then across the back above the quarters so there is some extra bone and meat on there. There's no organs though.

How much does he weigh now?
3 meals a day might help, too. Just 'til he gets a little older.
I don't know. Since we are talking about a puppy, I'm gonna' wait for more experienced folk to chime in.
I'm not familiar with feeding a puppy. I'm wondering about amounts here, but you say he is thin.
Sorry that I'm not being of much help. After the obvious suggestions I get lost. With him being young, I don't want to lead you the wrong way.

After the week we de-skinned a whole leg quarter and have been giving him those and necks for a meal. He's right back to fishy, runny and nasty poop. This is the third day of it. Managed to be able to catch the morning bouts by getting up to let him out super early but this morning that was even too late and he had a real nasty accident. .... The poop is absolutely awful and doesn't smell normal. It has a definite rotten fish smell to it. I guess the fish oil he eats makes it smell that way or something.
No. Fish oil does not do that. (Well, not in the right amounts, and probably not, period. How much does he get?)
Did he have parasites?
Remind us of how old this pup is. (The thread is a lot of pages now.) Remind us of how long the diarrhea has been happening, and whether it's intermittent. I believe he has had only chicken pieces and fish oil? If not, what else?
When did he see a vet last?
If it wasn't very recently, I'd collect a fecal and call the vet to say it's coming and describe the problem; try to get the sample there right after collecting it.
If you can post back with just this dog's feeding history, etc., that would help a lot.

Hmm..let's see..Going to try and stuff all the information I can think of in here.
He weighs about 45lbs. He's 6 months. I say thin because you can faintly see his ribs as he stands there and you can feel the bones of his hips and see them slightly. He looked just right before we began raw-it was probably because we weren't feeding him enough when we were eyeballing it, then cut his food back when he had his first bout before feeding him more necks to reset it.
Salmon oil..We were going by the weight on the bottle, on his morning meal he gets 2.5 squirts of oil going by the back of the bottle. Says 25-50 gets 2 pumps, 50+ is 3.
The first time we switched him from just necks to chicken he got this same diarrhea and when it didn't go away for several days we switched back to just necks for a week ( I probably pushed it too fast for him, thinking he'd do as well as Reesee ), then tried again this time with the same results.
The diarrhea is now on it's fourth day I believe. He isn't going an abnormal amount except for the new early morning schedule where he will undoubtedly have an accident if not let out at 5am. This started as soon as he got diarrhea of course.
Yesterday he was pooping a small amount about three times counting the 5am one. This morning I just let him out and he pooped a small formed log but lost it's form as it landed into pudding. Wasn't any more than that. It actually wasn't near as bad as the day before yesterday's rotten soupy poop.
This pup had Coccidiosis when he arrived at 10 weeks and was treated for it. It went away after a couple weeks. It was awful.
He was wormed a few times before we got him but about a month in a half/two months ago he had vomited a ton of small round worms and all the animals were treated soon after. Probably from going through that stage where he had to eat all the poop he could pick up anywhere when he first got here..
We treated for all worms, even tape just to do it all in one shot. Fecal was done before and after and showed him clean afterwards. We do have leftover roundworm medication because we bought extra for next time we even suspect any.

Coccidiosis, you probably know, like other parasites, often presents with foul-smelling diarrhea.
Self-reinfection is common.
I'd call the vet and get the fecal done asap.
Let us know!

Just got the results. Pup has a heavy infestation of whipworms. I'm tired of the ongoing battle with all these worms.. The backyard is a marsh half the time due to the fluctuating warm and cool weather and snow/rain so I'm assuming this mixed with the poop that quickly turns to mush with it is a soup of worm eggs.
When the weather gets better and can stay dry we are definitely going to become pro poop scoopers.
However, I was looking into worm preventatives and found food-grade Diatomaceous Earth. Ordered some to give them everyday with meals so hopefully that will kill and continue killing anything that begins to root in their guts. Can also use it on the carpets for fleas to help Reesee with her flea allergy. Kind of afraid to use it on her coat and skin though because it can dry out her skin.

Oh, I am so glad you did the test!
And I would rather deal with worms than coccidia. I know that isn't happy-happy-joy-joy news, but still, it's fixable.
Can you leash and go with for poop trips? That makes keeping it picked up so much easier.
