I have left Danke in the Jeep from time to time (getting gas/Mickey D's breakfast) on the way to training, etc.
She is in a secure, wire crate though.
The way the Jeep is designed, I can leave the back glass up, because her crate goes from the floor to the roof, and blocks entry. The Jeep is still locked, and no one can open the door to her crate unless they can unlock the back door.
Even then, I'm a nervous wreck if I'm gone for more than 15 minutes.
My biggest worry is her ripping her nails out or hurting her teeth should someone decide to antagonize her.

Too hot here summer time in southern CA to leave a dog in a car even with the air conditioner on.I was thinking about getting a van camper conversation that has a generator on it and blocked out windows. Anyone use these for short trips with their dogs and if so, how long do the generators last? If we were on a short trip and needed to go into a grocery store for 20 minutes, would the generator keep the air going that long with out a plug in?
One more question.....Do these dogs get taken from cars with car alarms on them?
