The next chapter in our lives, and in the book, has begun. Everything is official.
The opportunity to be together again is almost overwhelming. Through the generosity of an internet friend, we will be reunited. I look forward to letting Fama be a dog and make choices for herself. No pressure to accomplish the mission. No need to work through injury or fatigue. She will be my demo dog if she wants to, or play with the other dogs and nap on the couch. No more living in the kennels. No more Hills SD garbage food. No more new handlers to deal with, moves across the country with unfamiliar people to unfamiliar places. Just time with the family, working when she feels like it, lounging when she would rather. Good food, good friends and good times, something we should all be so lucky to have.
Thanks to everyone for the support and well wishes. I will be sure to keep everyone who is interested updated on our continuing journey. I will also start posting episodes in the book thread as I write them. No more need for DOD approval of material

Here's to a wonderful life together; you and Fama.
Eagerly awaiting a photo or two and some chapter rewrites on the book.

Thanks everybody!
I'm so excited to get home and add her to the family. It is a huge relief to know that she is coming back to me instead of going to someone that may not understand how to fulfill her life and keep in interesting and fun. She has a history of being misunderstood and handled poorly. I would hate to see her live out her life in stress.
I can't wait to get home!
