Hope it warms up enough that your old girls can enjoy snuffling around in the snow a bit.
Glad they are both holding their own, and you are holding up!
Cat has remained seizure free and I an optomistic that she will be fine now.
Shyner has been about the same. No real changes. She was not fond of the below zero temps we've had up here, but has been enjoying the new snow today. She and I just came in from playing a rousing game of "Get Your Butt" and she's resting now.
"Get Your Butt" is a game only she and I play- it's really the only game she's ever played. I take a step towards her and swat at her behind while saying "I'm gonna get Shyner's butt!" and she races around and comes back and we do it again. Back when she was younger, she would take a lap around the house and come back, now she just runs around me a couple of times. When she's done racing around, she will come back to front and roll over for a belly rub.
It's tough to remain composed when I know that days like these are limited and that she will be leaving us soon.... I've had a couple of breakdowns... out in the barn with only the horses to see...
Shyner is back to eating raw... YAY!! She is really enjoying some ground elk Cindy gave us, and venison from another friend. Of course, this is after I purchased a 15 pound bag of Sun Dancer kibble... oh well, now I have tracking treats for the spring.
Tomorrow will mark 1 month since she was given only 2 weeks to live by the vet. She truly is on borrowed time, but we're making the most of it- she was rolling around making snow angels tonight.
Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers!!! I think it really does make a difference. The Universe does listen.
Caterina is doing well- seizure free and is growning new and healthy nails. Hopefully we can keep them healthy and they don't break!
Shyner is still going strong. My vet says I should have named her Timex- she keeps on ticking. There has been no noticeable decline in her health or behavior. She is eating well- I got her some boneless skinless chicken that she enjoys mixed with ground elk or ground chuck. She still barks at me and leads me to her eating spot when it's dinner time.
Drift's birthday was yesterday and it was nice to have Shyner take part in the celebration. She ate her special treat with gusto
Again thank you all for your thoughts and well wishes!!
