I most definitely agree about putting names to faces. Or vice -versa. I will for sure post my videos when i can. I have no idea how to put several together into one so it will likely be multiple videos.
"I got Bak when he was 7 months old and he didn't know any commands, not even how to walk on a leash - 7 months later at 14 months he obeys quite a few commands and knows others and is eager to learn thanks to finding this site and learning about marker training."
"The first few minutes are from our first try, intro period. I have never trained for jump rope, so we started with teaching him to jump in front of me, and an intro to the rope.
He picked up quickly, using my arms as a cue to jump, initially rewarding for all efforts made, later rewarding for good height on jumps.
Sorry about the length, I couldn't get the first few clips shortened, I'll learn this stuff.
The rope, Getting him accustomed to the rope swinging over him, and under his feet, using food so he's not focusing on the rope( whipping, tapping, door knob noises, hitting his feet, caught on the tail, etc.)
Clay is not a softie, nor does he spook easily. A softer dog I would have introduced the rope differently. I was pretty confident he'd be fine with it.
We will continue to work on timing and getting a better rhythm going. We were using garage rope that I later added duct tape handles for better weight and smoother move."
