9mm Glock...(I'm with Will)
My day is quite intense listening to my own voice and the sound of my own lectures gets old, not to mention a mountain of questions, questions, questions...so I like Ingrid mostly like a good "relax" read...
For those who do, Try Maeve Binchey (not trash but a good story interweaver about life's intricate web), The Glass Lake is a good place to start...www.maevebinchey.com
I read about 4 books(Fiction & N/F) at a time, but usually can't put a Binchey book down...Happy reading whatever y'all choose and Happy Thanksgiving...

WOW! You folks are COLD!
If you all think dog training is so easy just try training with nothing but grunts and a club. The spoken word was a wonderful think when it came along.
As for the glasses, !OUCH!
I though Cindy and Debbie would have been to young to remember that. Guess not!
Will!
We all tried to tell that durn kid that the round thing he was working on was usless. When I saw it work that's when I realized something new (markers) really could improve our lives (dog training).

I didn't get wise by accident. I grew up with 4 sisters (2 bros). Live with a great wife and helped raise two daughters (1 son).
I earned my wisdom the hard way!
"Daddy, which dress looks better on me"?
Wise answer - Sweetheart, they both look so good I don't think I can really make a decision" "Go ask mom"!
I ain't as dumb as I look!
Course that "Honey, does this outfit make my butt look big" is still a tough one.

Reminds me of a Foster's Beer commercial, and the Aussie guy replies, "No honey, it's your ass"

I love historical fiction based in medieval times. I'm not sure why exactly but I find the life people lived back then fascinating and horrifying all at the same time.
Ditto, esp. the beheading part (joke!).I must say I am pleasently surprised to see that there are quite a number of members that like to read and actually have time enough to do this besides work, all the dog training, gardening and the composting of human manure.
I do not have a nightstand, but guns are wasted on me, i'll probably sleep through it all, maybe I'll wake up when I feel something cold & pointy on my forehead. If there's no ball/toy around my GSD will probably have helped with the retrieving part.
As for books, I will read medical/nutrition literature, reread all my GSD books, LOTR trilogy and yes the Harry Potters books
I also like to read the Q&A's sent to/by Ed. There are a lot of funny ones.

Does no-one have an alarm clock?
I just got one of those 'sunrise simulator' lights, which is meant to wake you naturally - and apparently fantastic if you work shifts.
Aside from that, I have a mini-maglight, ASP, Skean Dubh and my imaginary pistol (varies between a Glock 20; G17 and Colt 45). Oh - and poop-bags!
Bookwise I'm working through the Terry Pratchet Discworld series - I love his sense of irony and humour
Also 'Pure Italian' by Giorgio Locatelli, one of a selection of Eastern Philosophy books and the odd one or two dog-related ones.
The Leerburg catalog might be nearby too........

LOL...I thought this thread meant books only....
Among the books, I have:
Kimber .45
Glock 26
Taser
My fire and ambulance pager, digital radio for communication if needed, and yes, an alarm clock.
In the corner next to the nightstand is my AR 15
Newest book addition is Two Wars
Until The Tale of the Lioness is told, the Story will Always Glorfy the Hunter |
