Also, I rarely feed mine vegetables ....
This is a topic for another thread, but I am 100% convinced that low-sugar non-starchy produce (and/or "green" tripe) belongs in every dog's fresh (raw) diet.
The amount is small, yes, and the choices are best limited to those that replicate what a wild canid ingests when devouring a whole rodent, a rabbit or bird, etc., or scarfing up ripe fallen berries, etc., but leaving out produce leaves out something that the canid on his own does indeed eat. The Grey Wolf Project videos and the fact that a canid does not stop to field-dress any small prey before devouring it are just part of the reason I say this. The prey-model folks might sometimes make the mistake of comparing, say, an entire just-killed bird with a supermarket chicken quarter and call them the same thing, but they are obviously not the same thing. We can get closer to making them the same thing with certain kinds of produce in small amounts, and organ meat, and Omega 3s, and green tripe, but we cannot hand the dog a cleaned poultry quarter and call it prey model. That's my opinion, yes. It's a strong opinion, but it's backed up (I swear it! ) with a ton of research.
There are many threads here on the topic, but it's not particularly relevant to this thread, so if anyone would like to amplify, it should be in a new thread in this forum: http://leerburg.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/ubb/postlist/Board/12/page/1

I wish I could have sent you the email that was sent to me by the Grizzley Pet Products, I tried but when I tried to put it in quotes, it distorted the columns and so it made it hard to read.
So, I will write out what the numbers are for the 32 oz bottle
Incidentally, I got this info for my vet because the bottle does not give mg's and just gives ounces. In fact, the Grizzley Salmon Oil is by far the best numbers, and is higher in mg's than the
AllerG3 capsules that he sold to me.
Dr Messonier says that ounces are almost irrelevant and what is important is the milligrams to know how much the dog needs.
That said, the people at Grizzley have done the work for you, by putting how many pumps per weight of dog.
I am so happy, because the Grizzley product far surpasses the one from his office, and is a lot cheaper.
32 ounce bottle
948ml
(***1 cc= 920 mg of oil)
.12 ounces
3220mg
3.5cc
omega 3 935 mg
DHA(600 per tsp)385mg
EPA(450 per tsp)290 mg
omega 6) 95mg
These numbers are for 1 pump of Grizzley Salmon oil.

Sorry for what? I'm glad Connie didn't scarf your book! (She gets kinda mean sometimes doesn't she?)
Oh, Connie, goddess of nutrition and health! Stealing is wrong.
And, if you didn't steal Alyssa's book...whose did you steal?
Look! I DO fit in the bag. |
