Maybe I'm missing something here but I don't really see where he was defending byb's but thought it was more of a don't blame the dog, or dismiss the dog's value type thing.

One of the best dogs I have ever shared my life with was a Golden X Yellow Lab. The "breeders" did the "miracle of life" thing for thier kids and ended up with 10 pups. They gave them all away at a fair at about 4.5 weeks old. Brandi was an amazing dog. She worked in the hospital as a therapy dog and lived with me for 13 years. I was lucky to have found her. BUT, I do wonder, what happened to the other 9 pups of her litter?
For anyone who wants to breed their dog for irresponsible reasons, I want to tell them one thing. Go to a shelter and hold a dog for the euthanasia shot. Look into his eyes as he dies and tell him that you just want your kids to experience the miracle of life.
I held a shelter dog when he was euthanized. I did it so that he would have a friendly hand on his head as he died. I was unable to take him home, but his legacy is that I will ALWAYS have at least 1 rescued dog in my home at all times. I still cry when I think of him....
