We got about 2 feet of snow here, plus drifts about 3 feet.
but i still managed to get tucker out...we just walked on the roads. then once we hit the park i let him off. He was tired after about 20 minutes of trapsing through the chest high snow.
the comical part was watching him try to go to the bathroom.
i got tired of watching him circle for 5 minutes, so i trampled down the snow for him.
yeah, im a sucker.
My husband will shovel a path in the snow for the dogs

Well, the front yard is elevated about 3 feet off of the ground, so that means if she took a tumble it would be eight feet to the sidewalk.
When it was slightly smaller we did have fun marker training her to "hup!" up on top of it and then jump back off. With a snowball catch reward, of course.
I had JD retrieving snowballs. What a hoot! Occasionally he'd manage to find one but of course, as soon as he'd try to pick it up it would disappear. Didn't bother him - he was off after the next one as soon as I'd throw it

I've been without power now for 24+ hours. I find that I'm only eating orange food. Cheese, clementines, carrots, and honeybells. I won't have scurvy, but my nose (the only part sticking out from underneath blankets) may be frostbitten soon.
I'm worried about leaving Ripley alone here tomorrow when I go back to work. That'll be almost 2 days in 40-some degree temps.
The one thing my husband purchased for his motorcycle racing that I will NEVER complain about is the generator! Now if I could just find it behind the 5 motorcycles in the garage

I had already stocked up over the weekend, but decided to go to the store to get a few more things monday night after work. It was a few hours until the storm was supposed to hit and I have never ever seen such a spectacle!
It was wild at Wally-world Monday night. I thought it kind of funny that lots of people felt that chips, pretzels, cookies and soda were the must-haves. They had enough of everything else on the shelves, but snack foods were taking a serious hit. I thought I had enough of everything, but watching the news and seeing the Norman Walmart with empty shelves prompted me to go pick up a few things just in case. Dennis (Jones) was helping Steve do a few last minute things before the storm.
We have drifts about 4 feet deep against the back of the house and in the goat pen. The goats keep peeking outside their shed, looking around and apparently thinking, "This crap's STILL here!? O.K. back inside then". My goofy guineas feet are getting frozen I think. I'm going to have to catch a couple of them when I go home and check them out. I had them all penned up during the storm, but I let them out yesterday so they could sit in the sun if they wanted and make an attempt at warming up.
What area of the state are you in, Jennifer?

We'll be taking one of our pups up there in a few weeks; pm me and we'll have to get together then (maybe at Riverside, if this dang snow will GO AWAY!)

I would be the lady getting twelve gallons of milk before a huge storm. My kids go through 1/2 to 1 gallon a day, and I can't exactly explain to the 2-yr-old that we can't go get more. Bread I can make if I need to, and I have lots of canned staples, but milk would be the must need.
We've gotten the bitter cold, but not much snow here. We're keeping y'all in our prayers though, especially the people who have lost power.
