Twice in my life I've seen 'something' strange....
I pride myself on never running from anything... but when the dog next to you is whimpering, has its hackles up, urinates in fear and empties its anal glands.....
I ran

What I find the awesome-est is that tape overcame the paranormal powers and contained the bees to one room. Had to have been duct tape. That $#!t will fix ANYTHING.
Maybe they had the duct tape blessed by a Priest before using it.
I do belive in ghosts, i do i do i do believe!!!
(they say that if you believe in ghosts, they'll leave you alone. the ones they want to haunt are all the people mouthing off saying they DON'T believe. Those are the people they mess around with!)
ok, seriously Aaron, are you freakin kidding me!!!

Nope. We were too busy not really believing what was going on and trying to come up with rational explanations. It never occurred to us.

Ya got critters in the walls
that's my first thought, or a neighboring dog bark that you can't hear but your dog can. At least that was the causes of my dogs seemingly random alertness.

I gotta agree with ya there! If my 100# (or even my 50# for that matter) dog starts doing this....I'm outta here!

Loki did this once in our hallway in the middle of the night as I was walking to bed, I screamed bloody murder and froze because I thought there was someone in the house behind me. It woke up my poor husband who came running and shoved me out of the way to protect us from.....absolutely nothing.
We still have no idea what scared the dog so badly, but he spent the next several hours cuddled under the covers with me while we both shook.

My last dog, Joshie, a VERY protective Springer Spaniel went tearing through the field one night barking his head off when I let him out to pee. I thought for sure somebody was wandering around where they didn't belong.
I crept out with a flashlight to investigate and discovered that my husband had built a snowman for him some time during the day....
I felt safe from all snowmen of the Pacific Northwest from that day on

I've seen Bigfoot. Twice. Sorta.
Besides the point.
I'm just teasing because every logical cause was left out of here and went straight to demon possession. I've seen dogs react the same way after being startled out of a sleep by their own fart.
I'll butt out now so I don't hurt anyone's feelings. I've been a good boy lately, and should have bit my keyboard on this one, too.
I had a little dog when I was younger who would do just that. Fart. Jump and bark at her butt. Every single time. It was hilarious.

Oh Yeah?? I live about 20 minutes north of the UFO Capital of WI... http://www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/3688 They had once talked about building a UFO landing strip just outside of town... and each year in July they have UFO Days... it's quite a good time but you have to "bring your own alien."
I blame the UFO sightings on the large amount of beer consumed in the area.. but ya never know...
(yet another "only in Wisconsin" moment)

I do believe that animals can sense things we cannot, but I can tell you that I once thought my min pins were "picking up a vibe" when they spent an entire day staring at a corner of my living room, thier little heads cocked this way and that. I couldn't for the life of me figure it out and it was giving me the creeps. Later that night I woke to hear the pitter patter of little feet in my hallway upstairs. BABY SQUIRRELS. Oh my God it was like a three ring circus, dogs and cats chasing squirrels, me chasing dogs and cats.
I don't know if the dog is sensing another animal or if there is something supernatural going on. I hope the mystery gets solved soon.
