I had NO IDEA what "vacuum in the pack" was about (crazy idea that a vacuum cleaner was involved), having just popped in mid-thread until I finally looked at this O.P. today. GREAT!
This is the other dogs saying "I wanna be with him. See ya."
PS
Can I add that this is the "marching right along" pace I mean when working with a reactive (adult) dog so s/he is focused on moving with me and not making stink eye across the street? Michael's dog is BUSY, man!
Speaking of invented language, though, I no longer type or say, "guilty". Friends and I have been making fun of a typo so long that it's become "quilty". Same with "acquainted". It's "aquatinted".

We'll have to stay out of the loop Meredith... (
No you don't.
Quick recap:
Two Michael-feet marching along with leashed JRT "in the zone" beside these feet. (This dog is bookin'! This is a good pace for a dog walk! OK ... no more editorial comment.) From the side of the walkway three unleashed strays join walk, forming a parade. And they stay! Trotting along nicely to keep pace! (One is a little bigger and isn't working quite as hard to keep pace, but no one is ambling along. They have decided to join and they keep up!)

I always type "fud" after the Far Side cartoon many years ago.
