I actually just got off the phone with my dad, his advice was to call back tomorrow and say I am about to shoot the dog... because discharging a firearm in the city limits is a felony and they would likely show up lights and sirens.
So you can have a CC, but can't fire it?? Weird.
You know you could have a string of fire crackers handy, then call to say you saw a vicious dog and heard something that sounded like shots fired...
You're right, Betty.
I hope the response from A/C and LE is fast and effective.
Unfortunately, when seconds count, help is only minutes away.
This phrase is frequently used by the CCW holders that are willing to take responsibility for their own safety ( and as a note, you are the only one that can really can *take* that responsibility - anything else is just kidding yourself )
OK, NOW I'm interested!
When I told animal control that I was going to shoot a neighbors dog because it was harassing kids I was told about the county fire arms laws. She had no answer when I then said I'll use a bow and arrow.
That night it was in my drive way tearing up my trash cans.
I called the neighbor and told him if he didn't do something about his dog I was coming over to his house with my pistol and two rounds in it. The first was for the dog.
He got rid of the dog the next day.
Ill pay the fine any day for discharging a fire arm before I'll let a kid get injured.
To add to Will's post, Missouri has some of the best CCW laws and Castle Doctrine laws in the country.
If the dog is on my property he's a goner!
