Just got back from my girls CD trial, a fail. She sat after the stand for examination which I think was my fault as I had a misunderstanding with the judge and maybe it put Raven off a bit? The thing I had no concern over as she's normally flawless in her stays, her other stays were good and she didn't budge an inch and the thing I was most concerned about her heeling, she's dropped right off the last few weeks and lags badly, she was perfect great focus and no lagging at all (reports from outside the ring) and while i was watching her out the corner of my eye she seemed to be placed perfect watching me the whole way. So very happy with my little girl!!! Next time we'll nial it!

I was sick most of the week and the dogs were feeling a bit cooped up.
As I had a free evening I went to the agility center to play with them.
I practice my crosses with Harley. Introduce Dexter to some stuff, he is not very brave.
Harley broke his collar while I was working with Dexter. He was not happy seeing me working Dexter while he was tied on the side. A side from that it was fun a drain a lot of energy out of the dogs.

We've been working really hard on our left pivot and focus, so my trainer and I decided to have a fun day for Sasha. We got to do the tunnel and try the weave poles for the first time.
The weave poles were set at the farthest distance apart so all Sasha had to do was run down the middle. We tried that a few times and then moved the poles in a little. She was getting a little confused, so we put back out again and did two more successful runs down the middle and stopped.
The tunnel was an absolute blast for Sasha. She dove in but didn't come out the other end. We peeked into the tunnel and she was spinning around and running from one end to the other having a grand time. She finally ended up in the middle spinning around in a small ball; (well, as small as a l75 lb dog can get). It took a tug toy to get her to come out.
We tried it again but this time as she went in, I threw the tug toy on the ground just outside the other end. Success!!!

Great info on the trial! I hope to do as well one day!
Love those fun days with the pups!
Yesterday I trained Bindi as I took her out for her walk. I took her to parking lot and we heeled and worked on front and finishes, slow command in heel, fast command in heel, she did well.
Today I took Cody for a small walk up and down one side of the shopping center. We went into pet smart. Today he was a little nervous. Hadn't had him out for a day or two since I have not felt well.
Tonight I am going to practice my Rally O signs. I want to be better at them before training for rally resumes.
Sharon
Tomorrow is dog training for Bindi. And I will be training terra, on the heel positions, finding heel.
SO that will be fun.

Well it is bad here we are getting a nice mix of snow and rain and what ever comes in between. So the dogs have alots of energy and when I called Harley back to come in the barn he blasted in but ramed the snow blower pretty hard and yelp and he is now a bit sore.
So I am trying to find stuff to do to used his brain and not his leg. Nosework can be exciting to him.
And Dexter cut a paw on some ice and he is more then happy to just sleep by the wood stove.

The weather here has been raining and cold. Today I took Terra out to test her in crowds and loud noises at Petsmart. She did well and was brave as she sniffed every object she came in contact with. She was pretty friendly with people and didn't take much interest in other dogs. I am committing to getting her out more and working on these three behaviors-sit-wait, down-wait, heel. She may be going to dog school in January. I think she will do well in nose work, but am taking her to be proofed at dog training school. I am excited to see how she does.
Bindi went out to heel today, we walked for about an hour. Did a few fronts, heels, and finding heel position from different areas around me. Cody went to petsmart too today. He did pretty well. Is starting to know that people mean treats now, and when he sees a person goes right up to them, sits and waits for treats. Didn't take him out to heel today, too rainy.
Planning on getting some boxes tomorrow and do some fun nose work with the dogs, especially Terra. Just beginner stuff by putting treats in different boxes to see how they do. They enjoy games.
Gona continue to work on rally signs, so that when we get back to rally class I will do much better at the signs.
Hope all of you are doing well and having fun with your dogs.
Tonight Bindi went outside (it is dark out now) and brought me a present. She brought me a little bird. It was alive...but in shock, do not know if it will recover. She walks to me at a slow pace, then gently drops the bird at my feet. She was so proud of herself. quite a girl!

Today Carlin and I worked on learning to play dead. He succeeded! We also practiced moving between two touch pads, and practiced verbal sits from downs. We also had several very constructive games of tug.

So far tonight I have started a new search game with COdy. I ask him to sit and wait and I hide a treat in a box. He has to find it. He uses his nose and finds it quickly. We did this for about 3 minutes, and then moved on to practicing the "place" cue (laying down between my feet) and the mat cue, heeling, finding heel position, crawl, pick it up, close it. It is funny, I try to play with him when we are done, but he is upset we quit and refuses to play. He is a real character. Today it was pouring most of the day, so we stayed inside. Tomorrow we will go for a walk and go to petsmart.
Bindi-Tonight- going to go through the signs and practice them with her. Practice sit/down-wait and walk around. she is not real comfortable with that since when at school we did this behavior on a slanted surface and I slipped, it freaked her out. Today we also worked on transitioning Bindi from scratching a box to scratching the ground. She did well. the cue is "scratch". I am going to be working on how to execute the signs on my own.
Terra- tonight working on the "mark" and heel position. standing on the "mark" (piece of wood) and moving around it using her back legs. Then we will be working on the hid the treat game. Getting her to use her nose. She is quite a sniffer. Her nose is either to the ground or up in the air sniffing when she is outside or on a walk. I am hoping she will enjoy this game. Terra maybe starting regular obedience school in January.
Once my husband wakes up from his nap and goes to ride his bike, I will begin their training. I have made up a sheet for recording their training and what we are doing and what the results/ and problem areas are. It helps.
John, sounds like you and carlin had a fun day. carlin is very cute!

Well we have a fresh foot of super wet snow.
Harley is a bit sore on his right shoulder so I tryed to keep quiet. The good thing is the dobes don't do snow and wet too well.
I tryed to do some basic ob with Dexter but he was just wanting back inside the house. The barn is some how too cold for him even with 2 coats on. The horses are hot!
I had to back off doing nosework for Harley has he was too excited and jumpin around. I ended just keeping him bussy with a kong.

Feel like an idiot, been working on my girls motivation for a couple months now it's gone right off so I've been trying to figure out how to get her motivated again? I've tried everything all different types of food and toys and she's up and down all over the place, watch the training dogs with food dvd again "dogs must be hungry" common sense but it'd never bothered her before but cut out breakfast and she's back to her old self when working again full of energy and bouncing around with her positions quick and snappy again! So happy, just won't feed her breakfast on the days where i really want her to work!
