Just to update for the enthusiastic watchers, voting has started.
We are giving the voters (who are the participants -- not me or anyone else who didn't submit a video) a little extra time (until next Tuesday noon) because of the technical issues we had this time.
So next week, WINNERS will be announced!
So watch the videos and see how your choices for "life lessons" and "tricks" match up with the choices of the voters!
(And maybe plan to enter next time! This contest has been exciting and amazing, with great work from every single dog and owner ... it's a real showcase of what marker training and fun human-dog teamwork can do! And .... there are nice prizes! Who can't use a Leerburg gift certificate?!)
Glad I have plenty of time to figure out who I'm voting for because this sure isn't an easy vote! The quality and creativity in training this time around is really awesome. Just keeps getting better and better each time we do one of these!

I love watching and re-watching the videos and plotting on how I am going to teach my boy some new skills .. I wonder which one I can try and teach my tiny poodle with the 3 inch legs lol and the attitude of a pitty?
What's even more important to me was to feel a sense of getting to know some members better - a sense of community which I appreciate. I wish everyone lived close by because I don't know any people who think training their dog for a few hours a day is more fun than going out to the mall.
I don't know who is going to win but I think that every dog deserves a big round of applause and their humans a pat on the head or is that the other way around?
Hey Maggie, A poodle with 3 inch legs should be able to weave up a storm. You should try that for the next contest we do.
I too wish we all lived closer together. It's gets boring training by yourself. I have strange work hours and most of my friend with dogs are in bed when I'm doing my training.

A very cool thing is that folks here think of (and DO) cool stuff to keep themselves and their dogs engaged, exercised, and using their brains.
Mara put it perfectly:
"The quality and creativity in training this time around is really awesome. Just keeps getting better and better each time we do one of these!"
Every contest makes the next one sound even more exciting.

In my excitement to enter (plus train) I didn't notice if there were more than 2 prizes?
I was thinking honorable mention, best try etc? Not with gift certs but just a shout out to the dogs who showed well but didn't quite make it to first place.
If not, maybe something to think about for the next contest .. like next month maybe
