After reading these I have to throw in my own.About a week back while running some errands,I usually take one of my GSD's for a ride with me,I stopped at Best Buy to pick up a movie. My older guy(4yr. old)was waiting in the car, windows half down and I keep his leash tied to the holysh*$ handle in my Jeep.I wasn't in the store 5 min. when over the intercom I heard "would the owner of a tan Jeep with a big dog in it please come to the service counter".Naturally thinking something happened I rushed up there only to have the store security guard ask me if the dog was secure because a couple parked next to me wanted to leave but were afriad the dog would attack them.I explained the dog was secure but still walked out with the couple to reassure them. While walking out the couple explained that they were attacked once before.I was understanding about it but it still made me chuckle.I'll put my guy up against one of those car alarms any day.
not dog realted...but very good one...
It has happened to me more than once that I post a question on a webboard and someone answers "have you looked online?".........
I have an "angry stupid" rather than a "funny stupid" story. It still makes my blood boil. This was when I had recently gotten married and moved from Australia to America. My dog (ACD/GSD) was living back home with my parents until we were able to rent a place that accepted animals. One day my dad decided to feed my dog and my brother's dog from the wrong bowls. (They had different bowls and knew which was which.) Suffice it to say that my dog had half her ear bitten off and my brother's dog was never again dependable around feeding time. I had trained these dogs with my neices & nephews in mind to be dependable at feeding time & we could take food in or out of their bowls with no problems. And then my dad wondered why the dog GROWLED at him from that day onwards! Grrr!
As soon as my sister told me this story, I used the money I had saved for a vacation in australia to bring my dog over to the States.
Wow, pretty harsh words against your own Dad who was doing you a favor by taking care of your dogs -- It was an unhappy accident that had unfortunate longterm effects, but maybe it's time to forgive your poor old father for an unintentional mistake <:-(
None of my business, no doubt, but JMO as a parent...
