I'm afraid my pup is getting constipated. The stools are very hard and when she goes out, it is just a little and then she has to go out again and again, just a little each time.
I thought yesterday it was because of the bad weather, but today it has turned to snow and she likes the snow better and stays out longer.
I thought from looking at the stools this week that they were getting firmer, so about two days ago, I started leaving all the fat on the chicken wings, for a little more fat.
Also, last night and this am feeding are the first time she has had the fish oil and Vit E.
Should I give her olive oil again or is there something else I should do?
A little pumpkin helps with constipation.
Her colon may just be used to everything sliding out easily so it hasn't adapted to the firmer poop and with time it may not be a problem, assuming she has "normal" poop. lol
Adding fat will probably help.
If the bone to meat ratio is high (if you are just feeding wings) the poop will be pretty firm, adding more meat will balance it.

You can cut down on bone (or up the muscle meat).
Hard little poops are usually the result of a little too much bone in the ratio.
Give her a muscle-meat meal with no bones and see if that fixes everything, and encourage water (which is needed to soften up any already-hard poop in the system) by baiting it (cooking a little meat in it and then cooling it).
The fish oil and E wouldn't cause constipation, so I'm betting on a slightly bone-heavy diet.
Edit: Debbie was posting as I typed. But we agree. :-)

I used the pumpkin last week when it got a little runny. Does it work for both?
Yes. It's fiber that makes the stool bigger and moves it along. So a runny stool becomes bigger and more dense and a hard little one becomes bigger and less requiring of strain to pass.

Should I use the ground turkey again or a hunk of meat?
Would chicken legs be meatier?
I'll try that with the water (Who woulda thunk it?). She always has plenty of fresh water but who knows.
Thanks.
Either boneless meat is fine. (Not long-term, of course.) Yes, legs (with thighs) are meatier than wings. But also, you can use the wings with additional muscle meat.
The extra water is good for now so the system has plenty to spare to soften up any formed "marbles."

Thanks.
I'm boiling meat water right now. (The things we do!)
Baited water is so handy..... for diarrhea, too, when a puppy is in danger of dehydration and isn't drinking enough to make up for the other end being out of control.
