I heard from a very good source that Bob was present went Moses lost his shoes...........
Also true.
The one bright spot as I get older and older ("older than dirt," according to one of my birthday cards in March), I can always say "Ah.... but I'm not as old as Bob..."
Bob I am always glad to hear such things, but a few high line dogs that do compete successfully out of the ten's of thousands of working lines GSD's that compete regularly on a regional, national and world level doesn't in any way prove that high line dogs collectively can compete equally on an ongoing basis with working line GSD's.
Norman that is a very good "on topic" observation that is tied right to the heart of this whole issue. The gene pools are so wide and far apart.
I don't know if this will be worth anything in the long run or not, but the USA BAC is looking into this as well. There are some true working line people on the BAC as well as highline breeders as well as the strangely silent DOJ.
I beleive that the fear is that, by strict interpretations of the rules and the inevetiable dismissal of the commercial kennels entries, USA fears to lose too much ground to the WDA.
Look closely at Danny Spreitlers appointees to the general director spots... why should they stay in USA if they own WDA?
USA has it's own set of problems, but the working people are at least given a seat at the table.
Please, USA members, get a message to your Regional Breed Wardens and insist that the BAC take action now to improve next years SS. Some of the BAC read these boards, I suspect many do not, so there may be some who are unaware of just how dissatisfied the membership (or this part of it anyway) is.
For those of you in Mid Central...I want to hear from you. I want your ideas, I want to know what you would accept as progress to the goal of a Seiger that doesn't get run off a helper. Be assured that it will not happen in one year and maybe not even in two, but we can make it happen. I knoe that the NBW believes that we can make it happen and still keep our membership and that will be the best thing for the dogs, otherwise we lose the last refuge of the working dog, GSDCA-WDA is no sanctuary for "grey dogs".

WOW! I didn't realize I was trying to make a point. I thought I was just commenting on things that were rattling around in my head.
Just an FYI
Betty, Moses did NOT wear shoes. He wore sandles and he didn't loose them. I needed a pair, he was sleeping! What can I say?!
I think he gave me athletes foot!!
Yus people are mean....MEAN I tell ya!
Thought I would give a quick update...
The show line male I mentioned earlier in the thread, Jasper Vom Kleinen Teich who is participating at the North Americans this weekend...a VERY impressive demonstration, by ANY standards. Obedience, 86 Protection 92. I have some excellent photos of Jasper doing those phases. I would be happy to post them, but I am limited for time, as I am supporting my region and the regional entries.
Lorri, you make AN EXCELLENT point! Everyone needs to speak to their Regional Breed Warden. This is all very simple, Follow the Rules.
Now it is time to layer on the rain gear and grab the umbrella...showers all day at the North Americans!
