I mostly like to read non fiction and have a stack of books on my night stand.
Politics is a favorite of mine, but I can't share the titles I am currently reading for fear of getting banned from this site for leaning a little to the opposite side of center than some here
Safer books on my night table I can mention:

A couple of books of the Massey Lectures (Canadians may recognize)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Massey_Lectures
After Politics my second favorite type of books to read are adventure or wilderness related.

Just finished this book abobut an avalanche forcaster/ rescue specialist from Alaska
Snowstruck: In the grip of Avalanches by Jill Fredston
http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Snowstruck/Jill-Fredston/e/9780156032544
Blaster's Handbook- VERY boring but I have to recert my ticket in a week.

Clock radio is accross the room so I have to get up to turn it off.

No guns.

"The Two-Space War" by LTC Dave Grossman (RET) and Leo Frankowski. Militaristic Sci-Fi book, kinda. I normally don't do sci-fi, but written by LTC Grossman, I couldn't turn it down, and it's pretty darn good.
"Once an Eagle" by Anton Myrer. Fiction military novel.

"On Combat" by LTC Dave Grossman. Non-fiction, psychology.

Alarm clock.

I plead the fifth on bedside firearms.

1/2 bag of Sojo's treats for good dog, when she bothers to be good.

Miscellaneous junk (I'm an unrepentant pack rat... if I wanted neatness, I'd live in the barracks, dammit.)

I just read "Death in Bloodhound Red" by Virginia Lanier. I get a kick out of the whodunnit novels. This one was pretty good- I'm going back for another in the series...

				 .....and Northanger Abby ....
A good one. Persuasion is probably my favorite of hers.

But of course, I'll take any Jane Austen book, any time. |

i am such a loser, i love antything jane austin, and anything fantasy(dragons, elves, etc...).
i like northanger mostly because of her writing style in this one, austin interjects all the time with her thoughts, etc....that's how i write, or rather, have been trying to NOT write, teachers don't like it too much.....

I just picked up the new Wally Lamb "The Hour I First Believed."
I've read and enjoyed his other books:
"She's Come Undone" and "I Know This Much Is True"
