I suspect that whole site is really just a front for our favorite "animal lovers", PETA.

Close! When you click on the links it brings you to "Please visit our website at http://www.PetShopPuppies.org to learn more about puppy mills." That website is a Humane Society of the United States site. They're as bad as PETA to me. Doesn't take too much digging to get to the hidden agenda.

Also, the first person that signed their petition is the person that runs nopuppymills.com. I would assume the first person to sign it probably had something to do with the creation of the site.
The domain name is registered anonymously through Bluehost, so there's no useful contact info there.

Wow I was disappointed when reading thisw entire Blog. Have any of you actually been to Jolindy's? We are so quick to judge someone who has made a couple of mistakes. Are all of you perfect? I currently have an 11 month male GSD that my family had purchased at 8 weeks old. I have been to Jolindy's met Linda Brown and have previously purchased another 8 week old male puppy. I have also adopted two adult female GSD who were bread twice and then given to a good home. All came with papers and were in great health and condition (per my regular vet). I have sent friend to Jolindy's for puppies and NEVER had anyone complain about the puppies, conditions or not receiving their correct records. Her dogs are not kept in cages. They have very large pens on her farm to run and play. Her male dogs are brought in from other country's as to not mix lines. She does her very best to breed healthy dogs.
I'm not not say she is perfect but I'm telling you from experience she is NOT running a puppy mill, not all breeders in PA are bad breeders and I think Biden got one of the best GSD dogs he could have.

Bern
I have not personally been to Jolindy's but I do know that by selling that puppy to Biden at six weeks of age, she broke the law.
http://www.animallaw.info/statutes/stuspa3ps459_502.htm#s603
Also, I have my doubts that anyone who owns 84 dogs can socialize, train, play with, and spend any sort of quality time with each one of them. She is a commercial breeder, maybe her dogs are clean, (in spite of the citations), but she pumps out so many puppies I am certain she does not socialize and work with each one daily. It would be impossible. I wonder what is the size of her kennel staff and if each dog gets human contact regularly. To me that is what is important (in addition to humane kennel sizes, proper food and water).
And if she doesn't have kennels, how did she get cited for having dirty kennels?

I've read another article that actually said the pup was 3 months and not 6 weeks of age.

The pup will be (or is) 3 months (12 weeks) when Biden takes possession of the puppy, since he purchased the puppy then sent it away for 6 weeks of training. However, the puppy was transferred to Biden at 6 weeks of age.

Bern, there is absolutely no way a "good breeder" can have more than 80 dogs. Even if she had staff, she is the breeder and she chooses to have that many dogs. A "good breeder" is MUCH, MUCH more than the lines s/he pumps out. It's all about socializing, improving the breed's health, being active with the dogs, helping with rescue, etc etc.
I would NEVER buy from a breeder with that many dogs, nor recommend anyone I know to buy from an operation like that. If 80+ dogs doesn't say puppy mill, I don't know what does.

Will this be your only post with us?
You should probably stick around and learn something about breeders and the German Shepherd Dog.

keeping dogs in cages is not the only criteria for whether a breeder qualifies as a "puppy mill" or not, & of course there are levels of how bad the conditions are that puppy mill dogs live in. maybe her's are in tolerable but not OPTIMAL conditions. it becomes about what a person thinks is humnae, kind, fair to the dogs' quality of life.
but having 80+ dogs and PRODUCING so many litters per year for sure qualifies her as a puppy factory---and it then is obviously about the money, not love/devotion to the breed. not saying she doesnt love them (of course she does, they are making her rich!), but the world just doesnt need somebody pumping out that many dogs--of any breed.
they all cant possibly be proven or socialized....its ridiculous.
