The heat up here in WI has not been to bad, we have had a couple hot ones.
But, it has been a damp, wet spring and summer and you cant walk outside with out losing two pints of blood from mosquitoes almost instantly.
It had made working the dogs and horses "interesting".
Come on fall and winter! I love fall and winter.
Here as well! Not just mosquitoes but deer flies as well because we live in a very wooded area and are down by the wisconsin river. I can't wait for winter, just hope we get more snow like we did two winters ago! Not enough snow last winter! Oh cool air please hurry our way. I want to see the leaves change colors and have 40 degree nights. Please hurry cool weather!!!

I got home from a long LONG day of grooming. Sweaty, covered in dog stubble, and starving to discover the thermometer on my porch was reading 98, all the plants in my garden were bolting (wee). Happily we had a new heat pump installed last winter so at least the pups were inside at a more comfortable 70 degrees.
So I decided to scrap any outdoor plans I had in the garden and went out in the boat instead for the evening again. Yesterday we caught 11 crab and today we caught another 8. I think tomorrow if the temperature is off the charts again I may try some bottom fishing. One can only eat so much crab.
Oh my gosh.... I just came in from trying to play/work with Falcon this AM. When I walked outside it was like walking into a sauna, definitely the worst morning we've had so far. It rained last night (good thing) but is hot, hot and steamy as a result. WAAAAAAAAAA.
I'm supposed to do some preliminary work on a job site this AM which requires paper, pencil and measuring wheel, and my experience is that when I sweat like a farm animal and drip on the site plan, things don't turn out so great. I still hate summer.
I have a trusty bandanna that I wear under my baseball cap for that very reason. I don't mind sweating like a farm animal as long as it isn't dripping in my face

Oh I never leave the house in the summer without sweatbands and a handfull of colorful bandannas! That would be very, very ugly. I think the "AC gods" must be annoyed at us for some reason... First, the AC upstairs went out about 2 weeks ago (fortunately separate from the downstairs where our bedroom is). Then the AC in Doug's truck broke, soon to be followed by the AC in his Toyota. All this within one month. Yesterday? The spare fridge in the garage died. I'm chanting, burning insence and dancing by the light of the moon that MY car escapes this little, hot, black cloud!
