Oh, and Ross. To your other point. I personaly think this was very well done on the part of the president. He took a lot of flack in the beginning for veiwing Pakistan as more of a frenemy than an ally. He said he was going to do this, and it got done. Good on him.
Also, I find it funny (well, more sad) that not one poster has given the President one ounce of credit for this.
Huh? You didn't come on and give him any credit, either...
We're just giving credit to people that we know have worked for the past 10 years and sacrificed more than many of us can imagine to bring justice to a truly evil person. If the President missed out here, well, I'm sure someone else will give him plenty of credit elsewhere...
FWIW, if you want to get into giving credit where credit is due, no one has given my SILs brother any credit either, but he spent several months in some of the most dangerous parts of the mountains of Afghanistan before he was sent home due to a severe shrapnel injury to his leg.
I don't care what they did with Osama. He's gone.
I don't think of him or those of his ilk to be anything close to the Muslim religion. No matter what they call themselves.
Ed,
I'm an avowed agnostic but I have to say your little aside struck even me as more then a little off base.
It opens a train of thought that's pretty ugly and as you can see opens a can of worms that can't help but over run everything you try to do here.
I believe an apology is in order.

sigh
This is about justice finally having been done.
I am so sad that it has broken down into this. Now we ALL know why politics and a dog board do not mix .... even about what should have been an event to bring us all a measure of relief.
And now some of our most valued members are upset about a comment that I personally agree was religious but not meant to be directed toward anyone but his extremist group.
I have now heard at least six comments about pork (a religious point in many religions) with regard to this.
I don't think these comments were in any way meant to offend Jews, Muslims, or anyone else --- except the extremists like Bin Laden.
With no disrespect meant toward any current virgins nor any females previously called virgins, I hope any which the afore mentioned dead scumbag envounters "celestially" are riddled with all sorts of nasty STDs.
Surely the memory of all the Americans who perished on 911, our military men and women who have fought tirelessly to protect each of us since that day, and the awesome job done by the folks who killed OBL yesterday should be the focus of our thoughts. If THIS situation can divide us, we should be ashamed of ourselves.
