Sheila, that chirp drives me crazy sometimes too, especially inside.
I have had several people question whether they see any rear end discomfort or lack of range of motion in the video. Am I seeing things because of her diagnosis? I think I see her moving differently, but it could be that I'm seeing something because of the information I have and not because it is a genuine problem.
Kat did say that she still gets around like a rocket when she wants to.
Nice photo gallery, and so cool that you and Fama were included! She looks great in the recent pictures, and she sooooo deserves a wonderful retirement with you.
Linda Shaw was nice enough to review the videos of Fama and lend her experience to the conversation. She doesn't see any bunny hop, but rather a possibility of the tail amputation changing her movement. She also thinks that there may be phantom sensations from the amputated tail as well. It was very nice to have her input.
She recommended low impact exercise and no ball chasing or jumping until she sees an ortho specialist.

The opportunity to be together again is almost overwhelming. Through the generosity of an internet friend, we will be reunited. I look forward to letting Fama be a dog and make choices for herself. No pressure to accomplish the mission. No need to work through injury or fatigue. She will be my demo dog if she wants to, or play with the other dogs and nap on the couch. No more living in the kennels. No more Hills SD garbage food. No more new handlers to deal with, moves across the country with unfamiliar people to unfamiliar places. Just time with the family, working when she feels like it, lounging when she would rather. Good food, good friends and good times, something we should all be so lucky to have.
One of the benefits of being involved in a Schutzhund club is all of the new friends you make. One of the downsides is that we all have dogs, and as they get older we lose them. It seems like my club has had more than its share of losses in recent months, including another one today. It can really start to weight on you. Reading news like yours, however, is exactly what I needed. Sometimes a good thing happens in the universe and makes you feel like the ship is still heading in the right direction.
Thank you for the update, and please keep them coming. I'm so happy for Fama... and your family, of course. I really hope you do a demo or tour someday that I can attend to get bit by meet that girl of yours.
By the way, to my very inexperienced eye, I just thought Fama's running looked a bit strange simply due to the lack of a tail. I didn't notice any bunny hop or hitch in her gait.
