How I got my nickname Karate Karmen (Cindy Easton gave it to me). I don't remember if I have told this story or not so hold tight if you've heard it before
I'm working my dog on Purdue Univ. campus. I mean right in the middle. It's a great place to train for distractions etc.. Well class breaks and 30,000 students come rushing out. My dog is not paying attention so I give her a correction on the pinch collar and she yelps slightly (no with total focus ). Some hippy idiot comes over and starts yelling saying he's going to call the HS on me and that I am being abusive and cruel to my dog. I tell him this dog is being trained and it's none of his business but he is willing to try and take the dog he's welcome to it and that the police station is just down the street. He keeps belly aching over it as he's walking away so I get really angry. I put my dog on a down, go up to the guy and punched him in the head. I couldn't believe I did that. I think VanCamp temporarily embodied me LOL His head snapped and his glasses came off. He said you better not do that again. I went over picked up my dog and went home and called Cindy. I've calmed down a lot since then but stupid people make me angry LOL (guess maybe I wasn't so smart either LOL)
By the way, the anal sac story had me laughing for a half an hour. People at work were thinking I was insane.....
Another one of my favorites is -
idiot-"What does your GSD weigh?"
me-"He's about 90 lbs"
idiot-"Kinda small isn't he"
me-"No, he's actually on the large size for a GSD. "
idoit-"Well my brother's sister's uncle had one that weighed 130 lbs"
me
Sebastian pulls a cart, big wagon thing, it will hold around 1000 lbs. We use it for parades, demos and just to haul crap around. It is handy for a periodic trip to the Petsmart within walking distance.
To teach him the commands I put him in harness and we had him drag a tire around to get him used to pulling weight and to start teaching the turns. I got stopped probably 4-5 times a week with people threatening to turn me in for training my dog to fight. It got to the point I just gave up and only trained a 6:00 am soI would only be stopped about 2 a week.
If you can't be a Good Example, then You'll just have to Serve as a Horrible Warning. Catherine Aird.

Karmen - I bow down to you for bopping Mr. PETA!
Good work!
I was getting the dogs ready for a run and a bystander lady overheard me saying " gee the snow conditions aren't very good - I'm going to have to boot my dogs"- meaning I would have to put the litle polar fleece dog boots on them. Bystander lady went up oneside of me and down the other about how you don't have to kick your dogs to make them run and how awful I was....Even after I explained about the booties and showed them to her she was still mighty suspicious as she huffed away and obviously didn't believe me.
