i am sitting in my p.j's watching pride and prejudice, eating cookie dough and starring at the puppies,
I've heard of much worse holidays.
So they will be pooping a bit soon, I guess, with that food in them.
It seems that sleeping and drinking are good signs.
Maybe if the sludge could be just the meat and broth, there won't be anything they don't like the taste of ... ?

i have always given them those supplements, and they loved it, but will try with out. I was just trying to get vitamins and nutrients into them, even if they weren't eating. the chi has his head up, watching me, so that is good.

just curious, the pups actually get up when they need to vomit, they walk away from their sleeping area, and try to dig a hole, and when they do vomit, they try to bury it(they just started doing this). It's interesting, i heard that if a dog is sick, they won't eliminate near the pack, so if another predator is around, they won't know there is a sick pack member.....
But, they are still holding on. Everyone got up, walked around the livingroom, and went outside to potty. still no poop, but then again, there is no food. They actually climbed up onto my couch, and onto the back of te couch to lay in the sun by the window. They are awake now, just chillin up there. Still droopy, like wilted flowers or something. They are just looking around.

They're hangin' in there, then.
Are they vomiting often? All of them?

yes, all of them, but it isn't really vomiting, well kind of. It's from not eating, and then drinking water. They willingly drink, but they have such empty tummies, they just throw it back up. It is completely clear, foam sometimes, mostly mucus and water though.

i have really only had experience tube feeding infant pups, can i tube feed these guys? Does petsmart sell tube feeding kits? I know leerburg does, but i cant wait for it to be shipped here. They are 12.5 weeks old now. I know it's a dumb question, somewhere in my mind, i know i have seen adult dogs being tube fed........

It sounds like they are getting better if they are well enough to climb on the couch.
Instead of tube feeding I think you should just keep feeding them small amounts with the syringe. Do they keep the mixture down? If so, you could increase the quantity a little bit.
I am currently having some gastrointestinal problems myself. I brewed a double strong cup of peppermint tea, WOW did it really help my tummy. Maybe if you gave them some strong peppermint tea it might help their nausia. Give them the tea in between the broth mixture.
I think your older dogs would be fine if exposed to the pups, however I think it would be best for the pups to stay isolated since they are very vulnerable right now.

i can try some tea. caffeine free of course. the only thing is, the syringe is itty bitty, for medicine, and they fight it so much, i am stressing them out just to get a 4th of a teaspoon of food, and i know that stressed animals won't eat either.
the chi looks like he is doing better, still no food, but he looks better. I tell you what, i don;t even like chihuahuas, he better appreciate this......

When a puppy with parvo comes into the vet where my husband works they use intravenous feeding. But it would be very expensive for an entire litter,I suppose
