Ah. My granddog roots through bathroom wastebaskets too.
Shody, this is a well-placed warning from Steve. I would be waiting for perfect poops and calling the vet tomorrow if I didn't see one.

Thanks for the warning. He likes to tear apart stuffed animals too, so I can see were fuzz or stuffing could be a problem. I usually try to watch him when he is "playing" with a stuffed animal pretty close. He seems to not like the fuzzy stuff, it's funny to watch him try to spit it out sometimes.
The vet didn't think it was blockage because there wasn't (at that time anyway) a pocket of gas, just general gas in the system.
He seems better, still not himself, but better. No stool since this morning. He ate a small dinner, ch. & rice, pumpkin & yogurt. He ate better, not with his usual gusto, but more enthusiasm than this morning. He is drinking when I ask him too, but I haven't seen him go to the water bowl on his own, I offer him a small bowl that I hold, & he drinks. He will drink the plain water now.

Update for those of you who have been following this and sending Leonidas and I good thoughts
He is doing OK. He ate a small meal again, had a normal stool )finally) at 11:45 am. The stool amounts seem small if you look at what goes in and what comes out, but is this due to the fact that the chicken and rice, yogurt and pumpkin has such a high water content and digestability?
He still isn't near what I would call 100% himself, but seems to be progressing.
Thanks again to every one for the sugesstions, messages and prayers.

That's good progress Shody!
On the stool size, the answer is yes - he's eating highly digestible food with lots of water in it (even the chicken), so I would hope most of it would be staying in him, or coming out as urine.
How's his attitude?

He still seems rather tired. Not his perky self yet. When I cut up his chicken to make a fresh batch of chicken & rice this afternoon, he showed the most interest in food I have seen from him yet. I gave him a very small piece (sugar cube size) of the raw breast meat and he loved it. He has been just eating without much gusto, not refusing it but not being my "hoover" chow hound. I was tempted....but will keep him on the bland for a while before making the switch.
It's funny he doesn't seem to want to poop in the back yard. He will go out there to pee no problem. I was getting worried because it had been a while since his last stool. He kept whining at the front door, I assumed he was bored and wanted a change (that is likely too) but started to wonder. So I got out his leash and collar and took him into the front yard to walk around a little bit in the yard. Within 1 min. he pooped. I think maybe he is a little "gun shy" of the back yard because he felt so bad and had so much discomfort with his system maybe? Has anyone had experience with this? I'm not really thrilled about having to clean piles up from the front lawn, but until he is feeling himself, should I indulge him, or try to get him to go in his usual potty spot?
Thanks again!

If it were me, I would indulge him.
My backyard access is through my basement, so when I had a VERY pregnant dog, I took her in the front yard to pee/poop because it is only 3 concrete stairs. (That way she didn't have to try not to tumble down the stairs every time).
My point is, when they are not feeling well, I indulge them. I'll bet he'll go in the back yard when he feels better.

Shody, I don't know if this is an RR thing, but as Oscar matured, he became a real princess about his potty spots. He'll pee anywhere, over and over, but when it comes to #2, he may use the same place a few times, but then it's like off limits (and we pick up after him religiously!). Also, if he smells another dog's business where he was otherwise looking to go, he'll wince his face and leap clear to the side to get away from it! I've never seen another dog look so disgusted over another dog's droppings, but Oscar really likes a somewhat "clean" area to go... guess I don't blame him.
Perhaps Leo, out of some instinctive drive to keep his recently sick and immuno-compromised body away from more potential germs, is taking precautions to stick to clean, bacteria free spots on the lawn... maybe not, but I'd indulge him too - if only to pamper him a little more through his recovery!
*Love the skateboarding pic - he's growing up so beautifully! Really reminds me of Oscar's color and build...
