I would agree Candi, if it were daily happenings. But it is only once in a while now, and I never use 2 hands. Only the left.
The OES site is full of more questions than answers. Most of the experienced owners allow the behaviour and limit contact with the outside world. So that is why I come here.
From what he was before, the change in him now is enough for me. If this were a constant issue, I wouldn't waste my time. I find he probably has more of a lack of respect sometimes, rather than being just a plain pain in the rear.
If he wasn't showing progress I wouldn't even be here, but since he is, I will continue to work with him.
I have carried the rifle, mag in, unloaded, for the month of feb- March, as it was mom and cub season. It was easy, as I carry it on the right shoulder. Summer, it has to be ready. He is conditioned to the firing of it, and didn't even flinch.
I am off for a long walk, Candi, thanks for the concern, I understand where you are coming from! And appreciate your responses!
Good to know, Becky I'm certainly hoping for the Best !!!

His cute face hides a troublemaker lol.
He loses his jewels the first week of June. I have no more issues handling him, but not sure I can say the vet will have none. Remote clinics are hectic, noisy, and it will be something he won't like. I sure as heck don't, but it can't be helped .
He has his first truck ride Saturday. Following Betty's suggestion, he had to stay in the truck, while Jim got our load of water, yes we are so remote we have to truck our own water in! He got a few pops for trying to bark at passing vehicles, and did extremely well. The diff in size from jeep to truck had him missing his load up and walking into the side of the truck, I had a laugh, and had to help him up, but I was proud!
Meeting new people while we get our slow thaw is still work. He is a pup and still thinks he can pull like mad to get where he wants to go when a person is passing. No leash biting, just whining and barking. I 180 and move away.
We are on the midst of a spring rain/ blizzard, mother nature is acting up, so with poor weather and a contractor who came to estimate raising our porch roof, he had a bit of an episode with braking rather than following me. I did as suggested and just kept going in the direction outdoors for potty, and ignored his poor manners.
But all in all, he is doing so much better, no more bruises, and grooming is becoming more relaxing for both of us!
I hope winter keeps a hold for a month longer, had to put the skidoo away Saturday night, I was sad! Snow is going fast, and water is rising. Hopefully no flood this year!
