First of all, I love this website. It helped me out alot when I first brought my new pound puppy home from the shelter and I had alot of problems with him. He is great now and we are getting along wonderful!
My question is in reguards to my friends Rotty. She recently was told she has to move, she is going through a divorce and has no choice but to get rid of her lab and rotty. Her brother has offered to take the lab, but she still has no home for the rotty, named Maggie, and fears having to put her in the shelter. I was upset with this and have thought about taking her. I have a jack russel mix and a 3 year old daughter, who get along with Maggie, so that is not my problem. My question is how to rottys do with a new situation? I live in a townhome, which is a little bigger then her current owners home. I do not have a fence, I walk my dog 5 to 6 times a day, Maggie had a very small yard to use, but I would need to walk her. A good thing about me taking her would be that she would have free run of my house, which she does not have currently. She is kept in the crate when not outside.
Im sorry this is so long, but any advice would be greatly appreciated. I want Maggie to have the best home and I need to know if I would be it.
