Go for it!!!!! I switched my now deceased GSD to raw because she had a extremely sensitive stomach and I couldn't keep weight on her. Once switched to chicken leg quarters, liver and deer she regained her natural red sable appearence gained weight and was able to move much better.(arthritis in the spine) I continue to feed my dogs(4) raw. My vet thinks I'm crazy but doesn't argue how great my dogs look/act. Some good web sites also on yahoo groups under rawfed pups.

I'll join in the others and say go for it. I switched my dogs a year ago this February. My Collie, who after a year at a friend's had put on something like 30 lbs, would not lose the weight on kibble even though she ate next to nothing. But after a year on raw, we're down to her needing to lose maybe 5 or 10 more lbs, her arthritis is gone, and she cleared a bench for the first time in four years a couple months ago. Plus her teeth are reasonably clean, especially for a 8 1/2 yr old. Aussie, my ACD, was switched at the same time, and while young enough not to have many problems, his energy levels leveled out--no more "carb spikes" of hyperactivity. He could stand to lose a few lbs--he loves his food. I've got my GSD puppy on it, and he looks great so far.
If you're interested, I have more reading material you can check out ^_^ I'm sure you've read a lot, but rawfed.com has a bunch of myth--busters (for lack of a better word) you can use to argue with the naysayers who would try to convince you you're being mean/cruel/dumb/whatever.
