I searched the forum already, and didn't find what I was looking for. I have found a lot of people reference Pano for younger dogs limping. Remi will be a year old in just a few weeks. He was running around with another puppy and is now limping pretty badly. He's holding his paw off the ground when he sits or drinks. It is not swollen, and nor does he whine when I touch any part of the leg. Although he does pull away when I touch his "wrist". I'm giving him aspirin right now, but I'm wondering if there are any other over the counter remedies I should try. I'm keeping him crated to limit his activity as well.
If it doesn't get better by tomorrow, then I'm going to take him to a vet. But any other advice is welcome.

Did you look between the pads of his paw? (Splinter, foxtail, glass, etc.)
Connie: Yeah...I used to have a Shih Tzu so that's the first thing that I looked for/at. There is no sign of anything even between the toes. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Then it sounds like you're doing everything right. At least, that's all I can think of. And that's the only OTC I would give in this situation, until seeing the vet. (Others may weigh in with more injury experience.)
That's exactly what Caleb was doing and it was diagnosed as Pano. Nothing visible, no whining, yelping, etc. He just limped for about a week, then on the other leg for a few days, and now it doesn't happen anymore. He just turned 2. You may want to xray it though just to make sure it's not ED.

your situation sounds very similar to one that I faced with my 11 mos old GSD "Coach". He too will be 1 yr old in just a few weeks. He was rough housing in the yard with my Golden Ret. and came up limping. Coach is very aggressive and loves to play rough and hard. When I took him to the Vet she said that he had dislocated his shoulder and she did what I assume was a reduction and fixed him right up. Sounds to me like you are treating Remi and his injury correctly, keep doing what you have been doing and see your Vet.
Good Luck and I hope that Remi is OK

I just wanted to update everyone on Remi. After several days of an Aspirin regimine and lots of crate time, he is no longer limping and seems to be doing just fine. I'm going to continue the Aspirin and crate time for another day or two just to make sure. Thanks to all that replied.
