My 11 month old GSD has started his new diet today. One question I have is regarding tripe. I bought a 3lb package of unbleached tripe at WallMart and when I opened it, I realized it was intestine and not the stomach. Is the intestine of a cow good for anything? Where do I get green tripe?
You can find green tripe at your local health food store if you are lucky. If not, ask if they can order it for you. Most of the stores in my area will only order in bulk, so be prepared. You can always order it at greentripe.com. Good Luck
See if you can find a supplier for raw meat. In Florida you can't buy it in butcher shops, or slaughter houses unless it's your own cattle that you had cut up. I get mine from a raw meat supplier that I get it in 10lb chubs in 50lb boxes when needed.
