Hi, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong subfolder of discussion....
I've been searching the archives for different threads around bully sticks, and have not found them. Can you all provide some feedback about bully sticks as general "keep them occupied" chew toys? Annie seems to love them, particularly the woven ones, and they keep her occupied. I have not noticed any impact on either her appetite or her stools. Just wondering if there were some perspectives, pro or con, on them. And I have no idea about their caloric content, fat/protein/carb composition, etc.

Well, I buy them. The ones I get are just steer muscle, smoked a little.
My dogs will keep one going for many hours (days in the case of the little dog), so I don't really consider them to be a real part of the diet.
If your dog isn't swallowing chunks whole (which could present a choking or intestinal problem), and is chewing on them the way they are meant to be used, and if you're buying some brand that is actually steer muscle.......is that enough caveats? .........then why not?
I haven't had a problem. If anyone else has, then I hope they'll post.
Thanks, folks! I've been buying mine here in Mpls at Chuck and Dave's Food Outlet. I'll ask if they have nutritional info next time i'm in there...and Corey, thanks for the link! That's great.
I make sure I am home when they are busy chewing their brains out on the bully stick and I take it away when it gets about 3" long to prevent a choking hazard. I sometimes freeze them to make it more challenging. I will also buy the super long ones and cut them inhalf with the lopping sheers.
