I am having trouble recalling my 8 month old dobe. He is fine with a long leash but as soon as you remove the leash he starts running around having a good time, and comes back when he is ready. As soon as I use the long leash he is just fine.
Do you think an E-collar would be helpful in this situation?
I personally have an Innotek ADV-300, but am looking to replace it with maybe a Dogtra 1202NCP (2 dog version of the 1200NCP with the vibrating pager option), or possibly a TriTronics unit. I hear lots of good things about the Dogtra 1200's though and I like the vibrating pager option. My pup won't need an e-collar for a while yet, so I'm not sure if I should bother with the 2 dog version just yet or just "upgrade later".
The e-collar will help alot on off-leash recalls, I solved alot of problems my dog had the first day I used the e-collar on him.
The Dogtra is an excellent product. My suggestion is to research the use of the e-collar alot before actually using it. There is a specific section on this board that deals exclusively with this.
