I can understand that, Barbara.
Hard to get a good picture of an activity by reading some text. It's the same with all the programs with which I'm familiar.
Just reading the KNPV rules, you'd never know what the StokStellen truly is, unless you've seen it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania, etc all have protection titles.
<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> Croatia???
no way in hell... you can count good dogs here on fingers of your hand... and they are NOT (nor they would be recognised by our kennel club and experts running it) doing that half harted sorry a** IPO as it is done here that people here want to pass as dog sport. Police dogs included. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />
No, there is no protection certification in Croatia.
I have seen ads on various sites about 'executive something something 3 protection dogs' but that is realy ton of bs...
You american people should watch what you buy...

Hallo Will there is one in Czech and Slovakia it is called SPO/ZPO and has levels 1,2,3. The translation is something like: "guard dog test". And there are 2-3 helpers used, dog has to stop them all within some time, diferent places and so on ,there is more, I am not very familiar with this, but I can read the manual I have home if you have Q. All I know there is a lot of "Dog only" work.. the handler doesnt do much it is very diferent from schutz and sport training... huge amount of the time dog works by him/herself. Not that many people do it anymore, mostly police force has som training based on it I think but not sure.

There is (or was) a PPD test in Holland, as well. Used to select dogs for Guard dog stuff, if I remember right. Decent test, kinda PH1 lite.

That is object guard and i would not call it 'PH1 lite' <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Only if you find water work extremely difficult <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I know what the Object Guard program is, Ivan. That is not what I was referring to and I would definitely not call it PH1 Lite just because it is sans the waterwork!
For some reason, the initials DPP come to mind, but I have not had time to research it.
Sorry for any confusion.

I had a client today discuss a dog that they were interested in buying from a PPD vendor up North.
After some discussion, the seller is saying that the dog received it's PPD training in Europe and is a "level III", whatever that means - The client was savvy enough to inquire further and found out that the dog had a BH as it's level of SchH training.
So, my question is - has anybody heard of any organization overseas that is certifying PPD's?
I doubt it strongly, but it could be a dog titled in the swedish protectiondog programm, SKH, which has levels from I-III. I never heard of any certification for civilian PP-dogs ruled by any organization or body. For non civilian PP-dogs in Sweden, PP-dogs used by securityguards, there is a certification or standard regulated by the police, but´s that it´s just some simple obedience and one surpriseattack on dog and handler, and doesn´t have three levels. Just a minimumstandard and no guarantee that the dog will function in real situations without more training, just like PSDs needs more quality training than just their certification-programm to function in real life.
The entrylevel/level I of the the swedish protectionprogramm performed by an 18 month old malinois can be seen at this link, click at "Film på Buttrix 18 månader lägre klass skydd", under the two pictures on the top of the site,
