While you wait for the vet visit, you could also be thinking about whether you have new carpeting or dog beds or shampoo or anything like that.
If you wash the dog`s bed frequently you might try not using any detergent to see if that`s a possible cause. You`ll need to run your washer with vinegar in it a few times to get the detergent residue off it first. If you need to clean it with something other than just water Simple Green(normally found in either auto or household cleaners aisle) works well on stains and doesn`t leave any residues. Our dog was itchy for awhile and detergent build up in the washer was the cause.

I am not sure where you live.
But I notice that in the winter, my dog gets a little bit itchier due to the fact that the heats on in the house and it dries out his skin. He's not constantly itching, but i did take him to the vet for it since he was a rescue dog, and he brought that point up to me.
Just like the dry heat in the house can give us dry skin...it can happen for dogs too. He recommended a product for me to add to his food, and it seems to have worked wonders.
The rinse is 50/50 water & vinegar; in their food I put 100% organic applecider vinegar - 2 tablespoons (no water) twice a day; they like the vinegar taste (suprisingly)
Another thing to keep in mind is she could be hormonal,
I had female everytime before she dropped coat to come
in season she woulds scratch and chew her feet, like crazy
once the season was over and her new coat was in she would stop, during these seasonal fazes, I would, bath her in tea tree shampoo, she could not take the salmon oil capsules/or flaxseed oil, I tried them both they overheated her and she got hot spots from it.Thanks for the apple cider tip, I will keep that in mind if I ever get a problem like this in the future. This female is now spayed. She no longer got these itching attacks once she was spayed.
