Hi,
As I've said in other posts, I have received the 'Training a Competition Heeling Dog' DVD and have watched it through to get an idea of what my dog and I are going to be doing in the next months ahead.
I've already got a problem. I thoroughly understand the reason for table/log training the dog to sit/down/stand but I'm gonna have a big problem getting a big clumsy Dane onto a dining table only joking but there's no way he'll fit on something the size the DVD shows.
As I'm not actually going to do competition with him, do you think it would be ok to skip that bit? My main aim is to get the focus and commands/under distraction.
Is there an alternative to the table part that I could try?I haven't done the amount of weight training needed to keep lifting an 86lb pup up on to a table which I know he'll constantly keep falling off anyway
