I was thinking about getting another Sch puppy from a club member. This puppy is from working Czech lines, is about eleven months old and has no formal training at all with the exception of tie out and tug work. He has good prey drive and a nice bite. He's been in a kennel for his entire life so he isn't house broke and has no manners at all. My question is, Do I crate train and obed train pretty much the same way I would a eight week old puppy? except for the rescue I got, all my dogs were young puppies and "babied" alot. I was thinking of starting in the kennel and eventualy moving inside. Any advice for integrating "wild child" into a household and keeping him a good Sch candidate?
you are going to have to train him/her the same way you would a pup. you are going to have to establish the bond, you are going to have to watch him/her nonstop. the big ones are the sneakiest cause they know the game. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
i would train them the same exact way.
