More and more lately I come across people asking ( well here in Holland anyway)at what age can they start to get their dog used to running next to the bike instead of just taking them for walks. There seems to be quite a difference in opinions at what age the dog should be to start. What are the opinions here? I'm Curious.

Ok Thanks Mike got it and read it. Here people say start at 8 mths if the dog is fine with it. But build up slow. Thanks again for the link <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Good information here, thanks. The one point that I think needs to also be discussed is the breakin period for the dog's pads. Running creates a lot more friction on the pads and of course the surface of the terrain is a big factor. When first starting to excersize the dog's conditioning may allow him to go farther but his pads may not be up to it. Injury to the pads will set back your conditioning schedule quite a bit. On that note, does anybody know a good product to use on the pads.
