Here's a video of some BT's doing PP work. The guy who owns Thunderdome Bandogs just imported a bunch of these from Germany. I forget the lines, but they're supposedly from some really great schutzhund lines, possibly descendants of the most titled BT's over there. I'm not entirely positive of those details though.
Daniel, I do hope your BT-loving friend WILL join this forum <:-) because, so far, it sounds like you're the one doing all his research FOR him (???) Maybe that's not really the case at all, and if he's serious, then he could learn a lot here...
In this era of mob-mentality BSL (Breed Specific Legislation) with towns banning all "pitbull type" dogs, "mastiff type" dogs, "guard type" dogs, "large type" dogs, "scary type" dogs & whatever other nonsense, it's enough of a fulltime responsibility to own a pet Bull Terrier that's trained NOT to bite, but it's another whole LEVEL of responsibility to maintain one that's trained to DO man-work -- This is NOT a casual commitment & that's all I'm trying to say here <:-)
He's has done research on other websites and and read up on them. I am helping him on this board because he has no idea about Leerburg. I suggested doing bite work with the dog and he is aware of the responsibilty.
I talked to him in more detail this morning during class and he says his main concern isn't protection training, just a good pet. He said he knew how rambuctious they are without even I mention what you guys have said about BTs. Tomorrow I'll talk to him at get him on this site. and see if he'll post some questions under my name when I'm by his side tomorrow. so please check up on this post tomorrow.
Thanks for all the help guys, I'm sure he will appreciate it.
