.......Just think in addition to all the time Will spends with me on the field he still manages to answer my emails and so far hasn't blocked my phone number. (Did I mention stalking?)
Will - sorry I misunderstood your original reply. We beginners are NOTHING without experienced people to teach us!!!! Good for you, and good for you Betty (sounds like your stalking works well for you...)
If you have young helpers, or people wanting to get some more helper experience, it's good to have a couple of older, seasoned dogs, with an experienced handler, help out from time to time. I'm not trying to volunteer my friend, but he'll generally bring an older dog along with him if you ask.
My friends brother is also into SchH, & he just earned his SchH1 last weekend. I know he also visits his parents also. Both guys kind of check in on their folks like every other week I think.
Hi Gretta! I hope some of the younger guys take an interest in learning more of helper work from Dave. In the mean time, we have the awesome experience of occassionally watching Dave (when Steve comes too) work is own working line dog that he hopes to qualify for the Nationals one day, and also watch Steve work his SchH3 (umm...for real...not the Schnitzel-Heinie version of SchH..) show line dog. Gives us all something to respect and aspire to!!
Have a great weekend everyone. This is such a special weekend as the "Summer Season Opener" for us upper US folks, but also as an important time to remember loved ones passed. For us anyway, that includes both 2-legged and 4-legged loved ones.
