Do you mean Ed's recommended wire crate here:
http://www.leerburg.com/dogcrate.htm ?
I wouldn't call it a "travel crate." Is there a photo of the one you found?

I'm still confused.... sorry. You sent Kennel Aire the Leerburg page and they said it looks the same? It IS the same. The Leerburg picture is a picture of a Kennel Aire.
Or did you mean you sent the eBay seller the Leerburg picture?
Look here, third row down, for another view of a Kennel Aire 42".
http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/ref=nb_s...rds=kennel+aire
I guess it looks like the one on eBay, but surely there's a better ID than that. How about if you call Kennel Aire and ask them where on the wire crate their model number is, and what it is. Then ask the eBay person if that's on his crate. In the eBay picture, I can't tell.
Mine is slightly different measurements from the eBay one. Mine is 42 x 28 x 26. eBay says 42 x 26 x 30.
Or maybe someone on the forum whose Kennel Aire is newer than mine can tell you some identifying mark so you can compare it to the eBay crate.
Sorry; I thought I could help, sinceI have the 42" Kennel Aire. But I guess you need the identifying brand or model marks for comparison.

sorry bout the confusion. the ebay seller is kennel aire. i did send them the page from leerburg.
i just wanted to be sure it was the same one, cuz i would think a folding one is less sturdy than a regular one. I was checking on prices and there is no site for kennel aire itself and the ebay one was there so i looked.
i will call them tomorrow.
thanks for your help.
this is what they said.
Hi:
These are Kennel Aire crates. I manage the ebay
program for Kennel Aire.
Hi again:
The black professional series crates on ebay are fold
and carry which is what the crate appears to be on the
leerburg site.

The KennelAire crate is one that folds down flat so you can toss it in the back of your car/SUV/truck. At the trial/show/hotel room, you can unfold it and keep the dog in it. It's the one used by may people at shows and trials. It's usually very expensive. I think I paid a couple of hundred for mine.
It's very well made. The best feature is that the mesh is about 1" square. That makes it hard for dogs to get their teeth in it and start tearing the crate apart. The cheaper ones with the larger openings get pulled apart by the dogs pretty easily.
However, if you are going to be shipping the dog by air, that is not one the airline will accept. You will need to get one of the plastic crates shown on the uppper portion of the Leerburg page.

Aha! That was what the O.P. meant by "travel" crate. That threw me. Folding flat and travel are two different items to me. <img src="http://www.leerburgkennels.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

im very new at this. sorry.
i want the crate for my house. kennel aire is selling it for $80 with $30 shipping on ebay. I thought what a bargain since everywhere else the shipping is $100. the description says travel folding i think. My dog is in a vari kennel right now and i think its too small. its a 400 which i used for my 1st dog that was a shepherd mix @ 4o lbs. Gabbi is 9 months and already weighs 65 lbs. so i thought i would use the vari kennel in the car and get her a nice bigger one for the house. she loves it and is in there with the door open during the night.
here's the descript, i guess i threw in travel.. oops
Description
This auction is for a New and Unused Professional Series, 42" Fold and Carry Kennel manufactured by Kennel-Aire. Has 1" square mesh for exceptional pet safety. Measures 42" long, 26" wide and 30" high. Attractive black-plated wire designed for maximum strength. Suitcase design assembles in seconds. Has easy-to-clean slide out plastic tray and easy-to-use CAM locking device. Protects pets when traveling, proven house training tool. I accept PayPal, money orders or cashiers checks. NO REFUNDS OR RETURNS. Shipping in the lower 48 states via FedEx or UPS will be $30. Other destinations will incur a surcharge. Kansas and Minnesota residents will be charged sales tax.
the starting bid is $67
the kennel aire guy said it looks like the on on the leerburg website. so i thought i would just buy it off ebay just a couple of clicks and its sent to my house.

The KennelAire is the one you want.
I usually keep one set up in the house. The dogs like to lie in the crate but the open mesh allows them to keep an eye on things. Occasionally, we will practice the 'Kennel Up' command. It's their 'safe' place.
All the wire crates fold up. Otherwise, the manufacturer and retailer would have to pay a large amount of extra freight charges for shipping empty space.
