Here in So Calif, it protects against all native species except the Mojave. If your dog is bitten, you still need to get to a vet with anti-venom ASAP, because many dogs will still need to be treated with AV along with other supportive therapies. The vaccine buys you time.

I would go for a Cottonmouth vaccine. Our dogs get lots of exposure going to the lake all the time. And contrary to popular myth, moccasins CAN bite you underwater.

If you can find a bunch of people who want to go in on it, you can order 25 vial pack from lambriarvet. You have to call them, but they can get it.
