Just another ? I have on raw as we are so close to starting. What about dog licking your face or even hands after eating chicken? Not to worried about me but my wife and grand kids.
Mitch - once your wife gets a good case of salmonia she will stop letting the dog lick her face. Take it from somone who did not wash his hands after handling raw chicken. :-)
With that said - dont for one second kid yourself that commercial dog food does not have salmonila in it - or that your dog cant give you a good case of you know what after licking his ass and then walking around the corner of the house and licking your wifes face or the kids face.
The best decision you will ever make in the health of your dog will be to put it on a raw diet (not not vaccinate it)
Ed ,I have a question about raw diet and this may seem stupid but I'm not sure what a raw diet intails.I fed both my dogs Canidea as was recommended by a vet.I switched vets and the new vet told me Canidea(mispelled)was just as good as Science Diet and easier to get.I do want the best health for my dogs but am not sure about raw or even what it is.Sorry if I seem ignorant on this subject.Currently reading articles on raw diet Thanks

1. Use "search" here, searching all forums, typing BARF or B.A.R.F. or RAW, and expand the date range from one to many weeks. There are hundreds of great (detailed) threads on how and why.
Any one of these options will bring you up to speed! <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
Connie, thanks for the tips, just finished reading Ed's articles on raw and probably should have read them first before posting, but I have a better clue now.Had no idea on Science Diet, thought it was one of the better dry foods for dogs, but thats why I like this forum.Anyway thank again for the reply.Cheers
