My 2-year-old Mal's nose is turning pink, from the bottom to top. Each side of his nose is still black, but if you look at him head on, he has a pink stripe.
Has anyone else experienced this? Possible cause?

My guess would be "snow nose" it is common in the north... I have never had a dog that had it, but my roomates b&T will get a light stripe up the middle of his nose in winter.
Most of the time he eats from a hard plastic bowl, if he doesn’t eat from it, it is a stainless steel bowl.
I haven’t owned the dog long enough to see if his nose darkens back up during summer months.
This doesn’t seem to be any major concern with the dog, other than the he objects to the idea of Kiwi black shoe polish.... (Joking ) Perhaps the summer sun will stimulate the pigment. I was a just curious if any other Malinois owner has experienced this.

as an added note, I can photograph his nose and post a link to a website where you can view it.
It will be tuesday or so before I have time to do that.

Auster gets this. Over the years it has gradually gotten worse, so that the middle of her nose is now almost white and probably won't get black anymore. It dosen't bother her (she eats from stainless steel bowls and has bottled water, so neither of those could cause it). I really don't know what causes it. She has also been on several food during this time so I don't think that could cause it, although I have heard that kelp will help some. I haven't tried kelp because it boosts the immune system and she has autoimmune problems.

AHHH Snow Nose I remember the first time I saw it in my Sibe. This was the only dog I have owned that ever got this and I live in Wisconsin. I was told that with northern breeds this is a natural process in the winter so when they bury themselves in the snow and leave their nose out for breathing it helps them to blend in and not be seen. Who knows about that but I was also told by my Homeopath that adding Cod Liver Oil to their diets can stop this if it is from something that they are lacking. My dog gets one gel cap everyday just like a vitamin. The days are getting longer and his nose is getting back to being black
