I'm not certain where you are from, but where I live owning a taser is actually illegal. You might want to check any laws about ownership where you live before getting one. I wouldn't recommend using a taser on the dog because for all we know it might not do enough to stop the animal and then it will turn it's aggression on you. You could possibly also shock your dog and injure/kill it. It's also not advisable to get that close to an unknown agressive dog. I think pepper spray might be a better option to fend off an agressive dog if anything else. I know this doesn't answer your question, but it might give you a different option.
Its not an issue of YOU MAY GET BIT - its an issue of where and how bad will you get bit.
